Our family is asking for help during a season we never imagined facing. Over the past several years, Lindsay has endured life-altering medical events. What began as a routine surgery led to severe complications, multiple surgeries, neurological injury, and chronic conditions. Ella, our child, also requires ongoing care for SMA. These challenges have changed every aspect of our lives and created a need for specialized care and support.
To give Lindsay and Ella the best chance at recovery and stability, after diligent research, we found Arizona will provide much needed relief and opportunities for increased health and independence. The Southwest climate offers therapeutic benefits, and access to specialists is essential for their ongoing care. This move, however, comes at a time of major financial disruption. Frequent medical trips, early retirement for caregiving, selling our home below market value, and letting go of nearly all our possessions have eliminated our financial buffer. We are also supporting our children through critical life stages, maintaining two households, and facing uncovered medical, housing, and moving costs that we cannot bridge alone.
